Having had to endure the torment that is RealityTV since it’s “boom” from Big Brother I can hnestly say that I have not got a clue who Arlene Phillips is.  I am however slightly miffed that celebrity sacking seems to be the norm atm.

Apparently Arlene Phillips is an endearing judge on Strictly Come Dancing, a BBC 1 show.  She’s been replaced by Alesha Dixon, last years winner – a move that some say is to introduce a younger audience.  It’s this kind of thing that ccan cause massive lawsuits in the commercial indstury; replacing fangtoothed 45 year-old Susan in Accounts with a slimmer, much better looking and pert Leanne, 19.  We’ve all seen it happen in the workplace, but unlike the normal workplace where you have to drag out an unfair dismissal claim, celebrities seem to take it with the territory.

I’m looking forward to how the BBC deal with this as they have apparently received a flock of complaints already – again, an inthing at the moment.
